Flooding in Your Home or Business?

If you’ve had flooding or excessive water damage in your home or business, it’s important to seek professional flood remediation help as soon as possible. Mould spores, which are in most of the air we breathe, only need 72 hours before they attach to soiled fabrics such as carpeting and upholstery. Shortly after contamination, mould and mildew will grow exponentially, potentially becoming an extreme health hazard.

What We Can Do about Your Soiled Items

Canadian Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning will use a proprietary carpet and upholstery cleaning system to effectively neutralize potential moulds, bacteria and pathogens. Secondly, we use powerful truck-mounted units, moisture extraction systems, to prevent further damage to building structure, rugs, carpets, upholsteries and other fabrics. After truck-mounted extraction and cleaning, our technicians use a deep-penetrating disinfectant to prevent mould or mildew from forming. Our truck-mounted cleaning equipment has a recovery tank with a 100-gallon capacity. We can not only suck up any water quickly, but take it away to be properly dumped and treated. Truck-mounted cleaning also speeds up the drying process by bringing moisture closer to its evaporation point. Dehumidifiers and fan rentals are also available, and drying time is usually complete within 24 hours.

Protecting Your Home’s Structural Timbers

Depending on the severity of the flood or moisture intrusion, some organic structures may also need to be addressed, such as drywall and possibly insulation, which may hold onto moisture. Usually in a basement, as long as the water has not gone over the one and a half-inch floor stud, the only concern is the carpets and the surface of any organic matter. If further work needs to be conducted, we work with various contractors to get the job done from top to bottom.

We always get approval by the homeowner first before any work is done. We explain each step and will not go beyond what we have quoted you. Remember, if you need to call your insurance company, they let YOU decide who works in your home. Call someone who isn’t there for a money grab.
